Follow The Leader: Call for volunteer guides for San Francisco hostel activities

Are you the person your friends turn to when they want to know where to go, what to eat, and what to do in San Francisco? Are you a social butterfly? Do you want to get more involved with Hostelling International? Then read on, my friend.

HI-USA Golden Gate Council is looking for outgoing, energetic volunteers of all ages to lead group activities for our three San Francisco hostels. It’s a fun, easy way to be part of the HI-USA community while making friends from around the globe.

Volunteers are highly encouraged to propose their own ideas for hosteller outings. Past activities have included nights at comedy and dance clubs, Mission District mural walks, bike tours across the Golden Gate Bridge, and excursions to lively street fairs, so use your imagination!

Commitments range from 3-6 months, with weekly hours varying depending on the activity planned. All volunteers must attend a brief orientation to bring them up to speed on HI-USA policies and procedures, and take part in a hostel activity to get a feel for the role.

To apply, check out our current opportunities on VolunteerMatch.org, or email Jesse James Riscen, our Activities/Volunteer Coordinator.
