New HI hostel opens in Seattle’s International District

Hostelling International USA is pleased to announce the opening of a new hostel in the heart of downtown Seattle. This chic, modern hostel re-imagines the newly renovated American Hotel, an historic building conveniently located just a short walk from Pike’s Place Market and the waterfront, and just one block east of Union Station, Seattle’s transit center.

The American Hotel hostel is in Seattle’s International District, one of the only neighborhoods in the U.S. that is home to Filipino Americans, Chinese Americans, Japanese Americans, and other Southeast Asian Americans all living together in one area. The district is home to plenty of restaurants, cafes, karaoke bars, shops, museums, and parks. Cultural festivities abound year-round. In January, the neighborhood hosts a spectacular Chinese New Year celebration, and in Kobe Terrace Park, hundreds of cherry trees blossom each March.

The hostel boasts 320 beds with rates beginning at $28 for dorm-style accommodations. Private rooms are available for $86 for up to two people. Complimentary continental breakfast is included.
