See a different side of San Francisco with Diverse Destinations Walking Tours
Posted by admin on Dec 2, 2008

Diverse Destinations San Francisco is a series of self-guided itineraries designed to immerse visitors in San Francisco’s culture, ethnic heritage, and world-class arts.
Explore parts of San Francisco not usually seen by tourists, with these one- to five-day itineraries highlighting the Asian, Latino, African American, Jewish, and LGBT cultures in the city. Or, if you’re looking for something a bit more on the "arts" side of "arts and culture," explore San Francisco’s jazz and blues history, its architecture, museums, and street art.
For outdoorsy types, Diverse Destinations also has a Natural Wonders section, for those who want to see the greener side of the city and its outlying areas.
Rather than list full itineraries, the City on the Edge guide lists the favorite spots of some "in the know" city residents, such as Christina Augello (artistic director, EXIT Theatre), Ben Fong-Torres (author and former Rolling Stone editor), Roberto Hernandez (producer of Carnaval San Francisco), and Michelle Tea (writer and spoken word performer).
The guides are available either as published pamphlets at the San Francisco Visitor Information Center at 900 Market Street, or online at destinationsf.com.
